Apple Printing 10.5 (username and password)

On all Macintosh PC's the printers are already set up for you. If a printer is not in your list it is not available to you.
Before printing your document choose "Page setup" from the file menu. Choose A4 if it is not already chosen. The printers will not print a US letter page.
If the page size is correct a Username and password dialogue may display. You must change the display name in the Username box to your username, that is with a dot eg david.j.walker.
Then enter your login password, not your internet password. You can resume printing if you make a mistake by clicking on the printer icon on your dock and clicking your document and the resume icon.
If you are correctly writing your username and password and your keychain is set you can click the "Remember in keychain" box. This must be done for each printer. You will not then need to type your username and password again.
If this then does not work there is a deeper problem with your account. Fill out a blue form with the comment "can't print 10.5".
The most common mistake to date has been to not check your page set up or to not change the username.

Apple Printing 10.4

In 10.4 you do not need to type your username or password. On all Macintosh PC's the printers are already set up for you. If a printer is not in your list it is not available to you.
Before printing your document choose "Page setup" from the file menu. Choose A4 if it is not already chosen. The printers will not print a US letter page.
If the page size is correct the printer will print. If it does not check that the printer does not have a flashing red light. This could mean it is clogged or out of paper. If only the green light is showing and still not printing switch the printer off, wait ten seconds, then switch back on.
If this then does not work there is a deeper problem with printer.Fill out a blue form with the comment "printer in room ____ does not print". Do not open the printer.

Keychain Problems (in Safari)

If the keychain dialogue box always pops up your keychain master password is incorrect. This can cause problems with many other things such as your printing and access to your documents folder.
1. Be sure you quit out of Safari. 2. Click your home folder on the dockand then Open in finder.3.Click on "Library". 4. Find the folder called "keychains" and put it in the trash. 5. Open Safari and when asked click the remember in keychains box then enter your internet Username and password. 6. Click "reset to default" at the next dialogue box. 7. Enter your school login password. 8.When asked click the remember in keychains box then enter your internet Username and password again.
Your keychain is now fixed and you will not have to enter your username or password to go on to the internet.

Adding a Printer(Windows)

To print on a PC using Windows you must add the printer.
New printers are in CR01, and CR03 so these need to be readded.

1. Go to "Printers and Faxes" in your start Menu. 2. Choose "add a printer". A wizard will start. 3.Add a network printer then in the box type "\\sch8548\" . 4. From the list of printers available from the server that pop up choose your printer. 5. Next, make this printer default if you wish.
The printer will now be availble to you on any Windows PC you log into.

Can't Login to Windows.(Can't Find Profile)

Windows sometimes will corrupt and not allow you to login. This seems to be if you download something and you do not get ownership of it.
I am trying to find a permanent fix for this but....in the meantime.

1. See if you can log into a Macintosh.
If you can't and it just shakes their is a problem with your password. Fill out a blue form.
If you can...
1. Go to your home folder on your Dock. 2. Open your Library. 3. Delete your Windows Folder. 4. Log out of the Mac and log into Windows.

If you need to do it again and it says the name of the file it can not open, write the name of the file your login is having trouble with on a blue form and the windows machine number. You can try deleting this file from your Windows folder in Library on a Mac after you log out of windows.
